Police Still Seeking Suspect in Downtown Portsmouth Assault
The victim sustained serious injuries when the suspect punched him in the face.

UPDATE, Feb. 10: Portsmouth Police said they are still looking for assistance with an assault that happened in downtown Portsmouth on Jan. 18.
Police said they are asking downtown bars to speak with their staff regarding this assault, as it is believed that the suspect had been in a downtown bar just prior to the assault.

Police are investigating a felony level assault that occurred in downtown Portsmouth last weekend.
The assault reportedly happened around midnight on Saturday, Jan. 18, near the intersection of Congress and High streets, according to police. The victim sustained serious injuries when the suspect struck him in the face with his fist.
The suspect is described at a white male in his mid to late twenties with short hair. He is between 6’2” and 6’7” and weighs approximately 220 pounds. He might have been wearing a dark colored pea coat.
