Police Called After Landlord Tosses Tenant's Plants

The following are excerpts from the Portsmouth Police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Tuesday, Sept. 10.

Tuesday:

  • At 8:32 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on State Street after a landlord threw away a tenant's plants.
  • At 9:18 a.m., police reported a theft of undisclosed items on State Street.
  • At 9:33 a.m., police reported a theft at the New Hampshire Liquor and Wine Outlet store on the Portsmouth Rotary after an employee said a woman put some bottles of liquor inside a bag that were valued at about $100.
  • At 11:15 a.m., police arrested a Manchester man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he turned himself in at the police station. Michael Amato, 38, of 474 Reed St. was wanted for criminal mischief (vandalism).
  • At 3:54 p.m., police reported a two-car accident on Lafayette Road without injury.
  • At 7:36 p.m., police reported a theft of a cell phone at a Radio Shack store on Lafayette Road after a store employee said she left her phone on the counter and two homeless subjects stole it. Police later caught up to the two subjects at the Big Apple store, the cell phone was returned and two no trespassing notices were served.
