Local Man Hit with Second DWI Charge

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Monday, July 15 through Tuesday, July 16.

Monday:

  • At 9:57 a.m., police arrested a Lynn, Mass., man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he turned himself in at the police station. Shaun Springer, 27, of 8 Lewis St. was wanted for second-degree assault and criminal threatening (intimidation).
  • At 5:03 p.m., police arrested an Eliot, Maine man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he turned himself in at the police station. Christopher Zarbarsky Burke, 20, of 493 Main St. was wanted for receiving stolen property.
  • At 5:15 p.m., police arrested another Eliot, Maine man on Middle Street who was wanted on two capias warrants from Strafford County Superior Court. Steve n Dunton, 48, of 34 Elaine's Way, was wanted for those warrants.
  • At 7:15 p.m., police arrested an Epping man following a domestic dispute on Lafayette Road. Lincoln Akerman, 46, of 44 Depot Road was charged with two counts of simple assault.
  • At 7:26 p.m., police reported a mountain bike theft at the Portsmouth Public Library on Parrott Avenue.
  • At 9:15 p.m., police charged a Nashua man with criminal trespassing after he went into a Lafayette Road business that had barred him from the premises. Michael Treadwell, 49, of 23 Temple St., Apt. 202, was charged with that offense.

  • At 7:39 a.m., police reported the theft of some iPhones on Lafayette Road.
  • At 12:06 p.m., police arrested a Somersworth woman on Woodbury Avenue who was wanted as a fugitive from justice. Chelsea M. Glover, 20, of 289 Main St., Apt. B, was wanted for criminal threatening (intimidation).
  • At 7:39 p.m., police reported an airport emergency at the Pease Air National Guard Base after smoke was seen coming out of a tailpipe of a KC-135 Stratotanker with five people onboard.
  • At 11:58 p.m., police arrested a Dover man for drunken driving on the Route 1 Bypass southbound. John Strickland, 42, of 212 Dover Point Road was charged with driving while intoxicated (second offense).
