Barrows to Run for County Treasurer

Maureen Barrows, who has announced she is running for Rockingham County Treasurer, submitted the following:

Over the years, Barrows has served the community in many capacities; as volunteer board member and fund raiser for many non-profit groups and as a town and county official. She is currently on the board of the Meals on Wheels program. She completed two terms as a Children’s Trust Fund Board Member and also served on the National and Community Service Board which oversees Americorp in New Hampshire.

Barrows has lived in Exeter for over forty years. She oversees the David Barrows Adventure Fund and was a mountain bike race director responsible for organizing the Mud in Your Eye 500, an annual event which to date has raised approximately three hundred thousand dollars to support “outward bound” type activities for area young people.
