Portsmouth Park Gets Makeover

Water Country has several summer positions to fill; take city's Wayfinding signs survey online; cloudy with a chance of showers in the forecast.

1. Today's weather: Today will be cloudy with a chance of showers and a high temperature near 62 degrees. On Tuesday night, it will be cloudy with a chance for more showers and a low temperature near 52 degrees.

2. City to celebrate playground project: Mayor Eric Spear and the City Council will hold a public ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the $490,000 Plains Park and Playground improvement project on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.

3. Wayfinder signs survey: The city Planning Department is conducting a survey on the city's website where city residents can weigh in on which one of three proposed wayfinding sign concepts they like the best.

4. Water Country hiring: Portsmouth High School and college students home for the summer who need a job should check out Water Country, which is currently hiring for several summer positions.

5. Public design charrette in June: The Portsmouth Planning Department is currently working on a project to convert the city's current zoning ordinances to a form-based code and will hold a public design charrette from June 6 to June 10 where city residents can have direct input on what they want their city to look like.
