Unsealed court documents shed more light on Kathryn McDonough's alleged role in Elizabeth Marriott murder case.

A Portsmouth woman charged with lying to police about the whereabouts of a Dover man charged with murdering University of New Hampshire student Elizabeth Marriott last fall told police the two women planned to go ghost hunting on the night Marriott was killed, according to the Union Leader.

The Union Leader reported that court documents pertaining to the arrest of Kathryn McDonough, 19, of Portsmouth, the ex-girlfriend of Seth Mazzaglia, 30, of Dover, were unsealed at Portsmouth Circuit Court. The newspaper reported that McDonough told State Police investigators that she and Marriott made plans to go to a local cemetery to take photos of ghosts on Oct. 9, the night Marriott was murdered.

On April 10, a Rockingham County Grand Jury indicted McDonough of Portsmouth on three felony counts of witness tampering, hindering apprehension or prosecution and conspiracy to commit hindering apprehension or prosecution related to Marriott's murder. Mazzaglia was indicted for Marriott's murder on April 23. McDonough remains free on bail and Mazzaglia continues to be held without bail at the Strafford County Jail in Dover.
