Meet Portsmouth's New Poet Laureate

Kimberly Cloutier Green is the city's 9th poet to hold this title

The City Council formally introduced Kimberly Cloutier Green as the 9th Portsmouth Poet Laureate at City Hall with a proclamation issued by Mayor Eric Spear, making her the 9th Seacoast poet to hold this title, according to the Portsmouth Poet Laureate website.

Green lives in Kittery Point, Maine and following her introduction, she read one of her poems, "Bus Stop." According to the Portsmouth Poet Laureate website, Green was selected by a seven-person Selection Committee made up of community members with an interest in poetry and its potential for generating community.  She will serve as poet laureate until April 2015.
