Moment of Silence to be Held for Marathon Victims

2. Gov. Hassan calls for moment of silence: Gov. Maggie Hassan is calling on New Hampshire residents to observe a moment of silence for the victims of the 117th Boston Marathon on Monday at 2:50 p.m., which is when the first bomb exploded near the finish line.
3. Daniel Street streetscape work begins: City Public Works Department crews will begin the streetscape project on Daniel Street that includes new brick sidewalks and lamp posts. The gas main replacement project work will continue as the streetscape phase gets underway.

4. Today is Earth Day: Monday, April 22, is Earth Day. It is a day that observes worldwide environmental protection. According to Wikipedia, April 22 was designated as International Mother Earth Day by a consensus resolution adopted by the United Nations in 2009.
5. Sarah Long Bridge closed: According to New Hampshire Department of Transportation officials, the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge will be closed to motor vehicle traffic until May 25 because of the extensive repairs that need to be done.
