More Than 100 New American Citizens Become Naturalized In Portsmouth On July 4
The annual Independence Day event at the Strawbery Banke Museum dates back nearly three decades.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — More than 100 people from nearly 50 countries became American citizens on the Fourth of July after a naturalization ceremony at the Strawbery Banke Museum.
The ceremony has been an annual Independence Day tradition since at least 1997.
More than 1,100 people attended the event, including family members of the new American citizens as well as Gov. Kelly Ayotte, U.S. Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan, U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas, and Portsmouth Mayor Deaglan McEachern.
