Newington Woman Charged with Unemployment, Welfare Fraud

The following individuals were recently arrested by the Rockingham County Sheriff's Department. The information does not indicate a conviction.

Feb. 4

  • David Franklin Barker, 48, of 687 Main St., Fremont was arrested on a judge's order and charged with aggravated felonious sexual assault and sexual assault.
  • Craig Alan Wiggins, 37, of 4 Sumac St., Exeter was arrested on a judge's order and charged with failure to report to serve sentence on a habitual offender charge.
Feb. 5
  • Marcia Heather Merchant, 48, of 35 Airport Road, Newington was arrested on a judge's order and charged with unemployment compensation fraud and three counts of public welfare fraud.
Feb. 6
  • William Anthony Norman, 43, of 28 SPruce St., Apt. #1FL, Fitchburg, MA was arrested on a judge's order for failure to appear on two counts of receiving stolen property, one count of use of possible theft detection device and one count of operating without a valid license
  • Carol Anne Provost, 51, of 34 S. Sixth St., Apt. #1N, New Bedford, MA was arrested on a judge's order for violation of probation on a second degree assault charge
  • Julio Lopez, 28, of 24 Lance Ave., Litchfield was arrested for failure to appear on charges of possession of controlled/narcotic drugs and forgery.
  • Edwin Troy Maestas, 40, of 139 Rockingham Road, Apt. #25, Derry was arrested on a judge's order for aggravated felonious sexual assault.
Feb. 7
  • Aaron L. Bonti, 28, of 20 Pearl St., Apt. E, Dover  was arrested on a judge's order for violating a court order.
