NH DOT Releases Memorial Bridge Shuttle Christmas Day Hours
Shuttle service will operate between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 25.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces the shuttle service between Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Kittery, Maine will operate between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. only on Christmas Day, December 25. The shuttle service will run on a normal schedule during these hours, leaving Kittery at the top of each hour, and leaving Portsmouth at the bottom of each hour.
The shuttle stop locations will remain the same on Christmas Day. The Kittery shuttle stop is located at the intersection of State Road and Water Street, in front of Warren’s Lobster House. The Portsmouth shuttle stop is located at the intersection of Daniel Street and Bow Street, adjacent to the Warner House.
The normal shuttle schedule with return at 5:00 am on December 26, 2012. This schedule includes one shuttle operating between Portsmouth and Kittery for 20 hours per day, seven days a week. From Kittery to Portsmouth, the shuttle leaves each hour, at the top of the hour, beginning at 5 a.m., with the last departure at midnight. From Portsmouth to Kittery, the shuttle leaves each hour at the bottom of the hour, beginning at 5:30 am, with the last departure at 12:30 am.

The Memorial Bridge project will replace the 90-year old lift bridge that carries US Route 1 over the Piscataqua River between Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Kittery, Maine. Archer Western Contractors, of Canton, Massachusetts is the general contractor for the $81.4 million project. The new bridge will be open to vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian traffic during the summer of 2013.
