NH House to Debate Death Penalty, Expanding Gambling
They are two of the most highly charged issues facing state legislators this year.
Two controversial topics – the death penalty and expanded gambling – will be discussed by the New Hampshire House of Representatives this week.
According to the Union Leader, the House is scheduled to vote Wednesday on a proposal to repeal the death penalty for those convicted of capital murder. Gov. Maggie Hassan supports the bill. Expanded gambling legislation is also scheduled to go before the full House this week, despite the fact that the House Ways and Means Committee voted 13-11 to kill the bill.
