Crimson Tide Beat Jaguars, 75-5, While Bedford, Salem, And Souhegan Notch Wins: NH Wrestling Results

Bishop Guertin beat Merrimack in a squeaker, while Londonderry, Nashua South, Portsmouth, and Winnacunnet were unsuccessful Wednesday night.

WINDHAM, NH — Concord’s Crimson Tide wrestlers rolled to a solid season opener, pouncing the Windham Jaguars, 75 to 5 on Wednesday night in Windham.

While the Tide scored 30 points on forfeits due to a slim Windham team this year, seven of the eight other varsity wrestlers were successful in their matches. In the 106-weight bracket, Dawsen Nedeau of Concord beat Walter Palmer, while Carter Buxton beat Omar Elsaid Jr. in the 113. In the 132, Dominic Schinella pinned Braydon Sovereign, while Liam McGrail of Windham won in the 138 against Roman Reynolds of Concord by tech fall. Concord’s Jaxon Carter pinned Henry Palmer in the 144, Daniel Sheehan of Concord beat Cody Grenier in the 150, and Leo Chung, in the 157, beat Rocco Ponzini on points. Nick Roberts of Concord pinned Sam Bennett, and Isaiah Puckett of Concord pinned Antonio Ciresi in the 215-pound bracket.

For Concord, Biswas Darji, Devin Rivera, Maximus Chung, Jakob Manseau, and Wayne Gutierrez Sakakeeny all won by forfeit.

In junior varsity matches, Rocco Duffy of Windham beat Taro Camacho of Concord, while Elsaid lost to Khai Jawitz, and Madison Beauregard bested Sam Bennett.

Salem Beats Nashua South, 66-18

The Blue Devils bested the Purple Panthers on Wednesday night.

In the 106-weight bracket, Ella Paris of Salem pinned Elijah Phillips. As did John Blocksidge of Salem against Prithvi in the 113. Mykel Walters of Salem pinned Aarush Dutta in the 120, while in the 126, Tyler Baldridge of Salem pinned Noah Beasley. Nashua South’s Hamir Pathania, wrestling in the 132, pinned Spencer Lira. Jacob Haibowicz of Salem pinned Arihant Gadari in the 138, while Finnegan Parello of Salem pinned Christopher Angellis in the 144 bracket. Carter Lemire of Salem pinned Amber Wong in the 150. Benny Byrne of Nashua South pinned John Vargas in the 165-pound weight category. Adrian Loria Alicea Salem pinned Ares Provance in the 175, Zander Wood pinned Logan Rice in the 190, and in the 215, Ian McCubrey of Nashua South pinned Jaxson Donahue.

Brandon Tavarez in the 157 and James Nelson in the 285, both of Salem, won by forfeits.

Bulldogs Best The Lancers, 55-24

Bedford also beat Londonderry on Wednesday night.

In the 106, Gabe Kenna of Bedford pinned Aaron Braley and Jackson Ela of Bedford, in the 113, pinned Lennox DeLeon. Cam Roussell of Londonderry pinned Grace Kenna in the 120. In the 126, Samuel Upham of Bedford pinned Jackson Butcher. Londonderry’s Gabriel Perez pinned Audrey Shaw in the 132. Damien Kasem of Bedford pinned Anthony Balbour in the 138. In the 144, Colin Egan of Londonderry pinned Eric Gao while Caleb Holden, also of Londonderry, pinned Stephen Gaffney. Jack Bergeron of Bedford beat Brendan Egan by major decision, 10-0, in the 157. Ethan Levesque of Bedford pinned Sawyer Chaffee in the 165, Camden Santos of Bedford pinned Liam Cronin in the 175, Gavin McConnell of Bedford pinned Blake Buttle in the 190, and Silas Hiser of Bedford pinned Brandon Dyer in the 215. Matthew Benn on Bedford beat Jayden Mahlatini, 5-2.

Bishop Guertin Beats Tomahawks In A Squeaker

Merrimack was buoyed by forfeits on Wednesday night, earning six wins while BG won one, and there was also a double forfeit.

In the 285-pound bracket, Bishop Kearns of BG pinned Avery Lanteigne. Austin Steinruck of BG pinned Brandon Gendron in the 132, James Algeo of BG pinned Caleb Grandmaison in the 138, Dominic Stamp of BG pinned Luke Emond in the 157, Peter Cerrato of BG pinned Nathan Cui in the 165, and Jack Foster of BG pinned Nicolin Stevens in the 175.

In extra matches, Wesley Steinruck of BG pinned Charles Bolles in the 120 bracket, Ayla Saeturn of BG pinned Suzana De Brito, and Nathan Cui of Merrimack pinned Saeturn.

Souhegan Wins Vs. Alvirne; Portsmouth, Winnacunnet Fall

Amherst and Mont Vernon wrestlers defeated their Hudson opponents on Wednesday, 49-26. Nathan Stout won 11-7 in the 126 bracket, while Jack Kaler in the 132 won by pin. Landon Carson in the 138 won by major decision, 17-5, while Chase Knuckles won by pin in the 144. Alex Sarde won by pin in the 150, Brennon Mielke won by pin in the 157, Micah Dibble won by pin in the 215, and Gabriel Holt won by pin in the 285.

Spaulding also beat Portsmouth, 54-30, on Wednesday. Varsity wins for Portsmouth included Carter Kuhn in the 126 by pin, Andrew Craig in the 138 by pin, Michael Shortill in the 157 by pin, and Stephen Whisler by pin in the 165. Vinnie Cress also won by forfeit in the 120-pound bracket. Emmanuel Poupon also won by tech fall in an extra match, 17-1.

Goffstown beat Winnacunnet on Wednesday, 69-3. Wyatt Nicol, in the 113-pound bracket, earned a decision for Winnacunnet, 12-5.

Other results on Wednesday included Timberlane Regional beating Pinkerton Academy, 69-7, and Hollis-Brookline beating Plymouth Regional, 45-30. Tuesday’s results included John Stark Regional beating Campbell and Kearsarge Regional.
