Patron's Death Leaves Restaurant Owner Heartbroken

Ted Mountzuris, co-owner of The Page, reflects on the assault that caused the death of Joshua Krantz on Saturday night.

Ted Mountzuris, co-owner of The Page Sports Bar and Restaurant, was working on Saturday night when Joshua Krantz was assaulted by another patron in the establishment's Stadium Lounge downstairs.

As far as he could tell on Tuesday afternoon, his security staff did everything right, from escorting the male assailant outside to making sure Krantz was OK.

"My security was there immediately," he said. "The minute they saw the swing, they immmediately reacted."

He said they asked Krantz, 24, of Dover if he was all right twice, and also asked him if he needed medical attention. Krantz told them he was fine and just wanted to go home. Mountzuris said there was no visible sign of blood or injury, and Krantz appeared lucid.

According to Portsmouth Police, he suffered when a male patron hit him several times in the head on the dance floor. On Tuesday evening,  after they issued an arrest warrant.

Mountzuris, who has two children the same age as Krantz, said he feels incredible remorse about the incident.

"My heart goes out to the family, as I have kids that age. I can't imagine what the family is going through. It's very sad to see something like this."
