Police Charge 3 People with Prostitution

Portsmouth Police arrested three people on Thursday for prostitution following a police operation.

According to Portsmouth Police Capt. Mike Schwartz, two of the three suspects will be arraigned in Portsmouth Circuit Court on Friday morning.

Police charged Andre S. Hunter, 45, of 69 Woodlin Green in Rochester with prostitution (a class B misdemeanor); breach of bail (a class A misdemeanor); and possession of a controlled (prescription) drug (a class B felony). Hunter was held without bail and will be arraigned on Friday.

Misty L. Sullivan, 31, of of 1 Northway Circle in Dover was charged with prostitution (a class B misdemeanor). Sullivan was released on personal recognizance bail and will be arraigned on the Portsmouth Circuit Court on January 28, 2013, according to Schwartz.

Police also arrested Sara A. Cruz, 33, of 541 Lake St. in Manchester for prostitution (a class B misdemeanor), according to Schwartz. Cruz also had an outstanding bench warrant for disobeying a police officer (a class B misdemeanor) issued from the Nashua Circuit Court, according to police.

Schwartz said Cruz declined the services of a bail commissioner and will be arraigned on Friday along with Hunter.

Thursday's arrests marked the second time in the last six months that Portsmouth Police have arrested people for prostitution. for conducting a prostitution operation out of his apartment at Sagamore Court. Brooke Parent, 21, of Manchester was also arrested for prostitution and Jim Parra of Kittery, Maine, was charged with solicitation. Marino is scheduled to go to trial in Portsmouth Circuit Court in January.
