Police: Dover Men Nabbed for Shoplifting

Portsmouth Police supplied the following arrest information.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Thursday, May 9, through Saturay, May 11.

Thursday:

  • At 9:33 a.m., police arrested two juveniles, ages 15 and 16, for truancy on Weald Road. Both of them were taken into protective custody.
  • At 2:02 p.m., police reported the theft of an iPhone on Andrew Jarvis Drive.
  • At 3:49 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth woman following a fight on Hanover Street involving five people in a glass bus stop. Crystal Ryan, 40, address unknown, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest and taken into protective custody for alcoholism.
  • At 4:57 p.m., police arrested a Newmarket man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he turned himself in at the police station. Tylor James Bryant, 19, of 33 Exeter Road, Apt. 1, was wanted for possession of a controlled narcotic drugs and possession of controlled narcotic drugs with intent to distribute.

  • At 7:21 a.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man following a domestic dispute on Sagamore Avenue. Christopher Lalos, 20, of 579 Sagamore Ave., Apt. 104, was charged with simple assault.
  • At 7:31 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Marcy Street after someone tagged the Players Ring Theatre and the Prescott Park water fountains with graffiti.
  • At 12:28 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he turned himself in at the police station. Issac John Allen, 40, address unknown, was charged with being a sex offender who failed to inform police about a change of name, address or alias.
  • At 1:32 p.m., police reported a theft from a motor vehicle on Gosling Road.
  • At 2:21 p.m., police reported an attempted theft at the Wal-Mart store on Lafayette Road after a store employee said a male shoplifter was taken into custody and later served with a no trespassing notice.
  • At 3:24 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he turned himself in at the police station. Richard L. Duval, 59, of 237 Austin St., Apt. 1, was wanted for conduct after an accident.
  • At 3:38 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth woman for liquor offenses on Andrew Jarvis Drive after police said she was intoxicated on the Portsmouth High School tennis courts. Erica Murphy, 18, of 214 Leslie Drive was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol.
  • At 4:41 p.m., police reported criminal mischief on Atkinson Street after police reported someone had tagged a fence with graffiti.
  • At 6:35 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth woman following a domestic incident on Winsor Road. Sara Rene Bigelow, 32, of 4 Winsor Road was charged with simple assault and resisting arrest of detention.

Saturday:

  • At 1:03 a.m., police arrested a Kittery, Maine man for lewd-indecent exposure on the Vaughn Mall. Timothy Schossow, 23, of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Apt. 422, was charged with violating the city ordinance which prohibits urinating or defecating in public.
  • At 6:50 a.m., police arrested two men for shoplifting on Woodbury Avenue. Nicholas Peter Barton, 28, of 3 Westgate Drive, Apt. 12, in Dover and Joel Smith, 26, of 12 Hill St., Apt. C, in Dover were both charged with theft (removing merchandise from the premises) and receiving stolen property.
  • At 2:06 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth woman for theft on Market Street after the caller said she stole a necklace. Reilly C. Leith, 26, of 83 Woodbury Ave. was charged with receiving stolen property.
  • At 5:06 p.m., police took a past prowler report on Wilson Road.
  • At 7:09 p.m., police reported a theft on Lafayette Road after a store employee removed a male shoplifter who then re-entered the store.
  • At 10:17 p.m., police arrested a South Berwick, Maine man for motor vehicle offenses on Hanover Street. Jeffrey W. Massida, 26, of 64 Academy St. was charged with driving after revocation or suspension.
