Police Looking for Suspect in Strong Armed Robbery

Portsmouth Police say a male shoplifter fought off a Marshall's Department Store loss prevention officer and left the store after he tried to steal some merchandise.

Portsmouth Police are looking for a male suspect who tried to shoplift some merchandise at Marshalls on Wednesday and fought with a loss prevention officer before fleeing the store.

According to Portsmouth Police Sgt. John Peracchi, police responded to the Woodbury Avenue store after learning about the incident that took place around 1:30 p.m. Peracchi said the male suspect exited the store and escaped in a tan colored 4 door sedan, possibly a NH Registration, with a female operator.

Police describe the suspect as a: white male in his 20’s, medium build, approximately 5’10”, with brown hair, and was wearing dark jeans. Anyone with information that can assist in identifying the suspect is asked to contact Officer Andre Wassouf at (603) 610-7515.
