Police Looking for Newspaper Thief

Portsmouth Police supplied the following information.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Wednesday, April 3.

Wednesday:

  • At 8:33 a.m., police reported a theft on Islington Street after the caller said he saw a male subject wearing a hoodie take a newspaper that was left on the front doorstep of a neighbor.
  • At 8:59 a.m., police assisted the Portsmouth Fire Department with a car fire that was reported on the Portsmouth Traffic Circle and the Spaulding Turnpike southbound.
  • At 1:57 p.m., police reported a theft from a motor vehicle on Gosling Road.
  • At 5 p.m., police investigated a report of three juveniles smoking marijuana inside a car on Elwyn Road.
  • At 6:25 p.m., police investigated a theft on Greenleaf Avenue after six juveniles were spotted taking spools of wire from a construction site storage cage that had been opened.
  • At 9:27 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man following a domestic incident on Union Street after the caller said the male subject had slashed two front tires on a vehicle. Taylor Chace, 26, of 55 Miller Ave. in Portsmouth was charged with criminal mischief (vandalism).
