Police: Movers Lift $7K of Jewelry
Portsmouth Police provided the following arrest information.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Thursday, May 23 through Friday, May 24.
Thursday:
- At 9:19 a.m., police reported an animal call on Elwyn Road after the caller reported a rabbit in the area. The Animal Control Officer was notified.
- At 10:38 a.m., police reported a theft of a military bag and a line badge ID on Market Street.
- At 12:10 p.m., police reported criminal threatening on Bow Street after the caller said the driver of a pickup truck peeled out and spit rocks on his vehicle. The driver of the pick-up truck then threatened to punch the caller when he complained about the rocks.
- At 1:14 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he turned himself in at the police department. Theodore C. Vrettos, 52, of 20 Nathaniel Drive was wanted for conduct after an accident.
- At 2:54 p.m., police reported a civil matter/dispute on Islington Street after the caller said a homeless man smashed her car window after she had tried to call for an ambulance for him.
- At 4 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man on White Cedar Boulevard for a drug offense. Robert C. Arnold, 27, of 1906 White Cedar Blvd., was charged with inhaling toxic vapors for effect.
- At 6:45 p.m., police arrested a Dover man for motor offenses on Portsmouth Boulevard and Market Street. Thomas Higgins, 53, of 93 Old Dover Point Road, Apt. A, was charged with driving after revocation or suspension, possession of drugs in a motor vehicle and possession of controlled narcotic drugs.
- At 7:35 p.m., police reported harassment on Lafayette Road after the caller said a homeless man was begging for beer money from an elderly woman with an oxygen tank who was picking flowers.

- At 12:27 p.m., police reported reckless operation on I-95 northbound and the Portsmouth Traffic Circle after the driver of a motor vehicle that was reported stolen from Haverhill, Mass., was all over the road and struck a guardrail. Police said that State Police Troop A in Epping was notified after the driver headed south on I-95.
- At 1 p.m., police reported a rape-forcible sex assault on Gosling Road that took place six to seven years ago when the victim was 11 years old.
- At 5:08 p.m., police reported a theft of $7,000 of jewelry from a Islington Street home after the caller said a moving company went inside of her house and took the items while moving her furniture.
- At 6:31 p.m., police reported the theft of an iPhone on Lafayette Road.
- At 6:34 p.m., police arrested a Salem man who was wanted as as fugitive from justice after he was detained by Salem Police. Jonathan Barrett, 23, of 103 Clough Road in Salem was wanted for conspiracy to commit sale of a controlled drug.
- At 7:48 p.m., police reported a theft on Lafayette Road after the caller said all of her belongings were stolen from her motor vehicle.
