Police Nab Two Out of State Shoplifters

Portsmouth Police provided the following arrest information.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Thursday, April 11 to Sunday, April 14.

Thursday:

  • At 10:09 a.m., police arrested a Portsmouth woman who was wanted as a fugitive from justice on Gosling Road. Amy M. Matton, 35, of 120 Ledgewood Drive was arrested on a Seabrook Police warrant.
  • At 3:21 p.m., police reported an animal call on Heritage Avenue after the caller reported an injured raccoon in a dumpster that did not appear to be rabid.
  • At 7:38 p.m., police arrested a Rye man for drunken driving on the Route 1 Bypass northbound. William Bissinger, 51, of 14 Myrica Ave., Apt. 1, in Rye was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated.
  • At 8:07 p.m., police reported theft after the caller said a female shopper was putting merchandise into bags at the Walmart on Lafayette Road.
  • At 8:09 p.m., police reported criminal mischief on Cass Street after the caller said someone broke into her backyard, knocked over some buckets and carved the word, "Hag," on her fence.

  • At 8:01 a.m., police reported a prowler on Thornton Street.
  • At 8:39 a.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man for criminal trespassing on Lafayette Road. Bernard F. Shadrawy III, 41, of address unknown, was charged with that offense.
  • At 10:41 a.m., police arrested a Kittery, Maine man for motor vehicle offenses on Borthwick Avenue. Marc David Loranger, 56, of 98 Government St. in Kittery was charged with driving after suspension (alcohol related).
  • At 2:07 p.m., police reported criminal mischief after police saw some graffiti tagging on a building on Woodbury Avenue.
  • At 2:51 p.m., police reported a theft after the caller said he was selling some tires for $300 on Craigslist and received a check of $1,500 from a would-be buyer that he thought could be a scam.
  • At 3:33 p.m., police arrested a Dover man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he turned himself in at the police station. Geraldo Gonzalez, 49, of 221 Regent Drive in Dover was wanted for tampering with witnesses and informants (intimidation).
  • At 11:47 p.m., police reported a theft of a purse and an iPhone on High Street.

Saturday:

  • At 1 a.m., police reported a fight on State Street.
  • At 5:02 a.m., police reported an unattended death on Pleasant Street.
  • At 10:50 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Woodbury Avenue after the caller reported some graffiti on a building.
  • At 1:14 p.m., police reported an animal call after a dog was wedged between two rocks on Peirce Island. The caller later told police they were able to free the dog.
  • At 5:23 p.m., police arrested two shoplifters on Lafayette Road. Theodore W. Fuehr, 22, of 12730 Greenfield Road in Leawood, Kans., was charged with wilful concealment and Kaitlin V. Leway, 21, of 158 Harmon Drive in Northfield, Vt., was charged with theft; from a building.
  • At 6:25 p.m., police reported criminal mischief on Brackett Road after a fire hydrant was found lying on its side.
  • At 7:45 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man in Market Square. Terrance P. Regan, 21, of 226 Union St. was charged with indecent exposure and lewdness and with violating a city ordinance of urinating or defacating in public.
  • At 10:19 p.m., police reported criminal trespassing on South Street aftrer police moved along three people who identified themselves as ghost hunters from the South Street cemetery.
  • At 10:58 p.m., police arrested a Kittery, Maine man for motor vehicle offenses on Russell and Green streets. Paul M. Moore, 49, of 22 Stimson St. in Kittery was charged with driving after revocation or suspension.
