Police: Public Works Snow Plow Hits Car
The following information was provided by the Portsmouth Police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Saturday, Jan. 4 and Sunday, Jan. 5.
Saturday:
- At 1:24 a.m., police reported a motor vehicle accident without injury on Middle Street.
- At 10:34 a.m., police reported the theft of a gold chain on Andrew Jarvis Drive.
- At 12:05 p.m., police reported a two-car accident on Woodbury Avenue without injury.
- At 2:18 p.m., police reported a two-car accident on Maplewood Avenue and Cutts Street without injury.
- At 8:44 p.m., police reported a theft at the Portsmouth Rotary Circle after the caller said that someone stole her cell phone, wallet and purse.
- At 10:55 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he was detained by State Police. Somsalao Singharath, 33, was wanted for simple assault, obstructing or a crime or injury and false imprisonment.
- At 2:47 a.m., police reported the theft of a computer modem with a suspect on Langdon Street.
- At 8:32 a.m., police reported a motor vehicle accident without injury on Ledgewood Drive.
- At 11:34 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Broad Street after the caller said their car was egged.
- At 2:11 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he turned himself in at the police station. Shane M. Carpenter, 27, of 74 Taft Road was wanted for criminal threatening and harassment.
- At 11:02 p.m., police reported an accident on Atkinson Street after the caller said a city snow plow truck hit his vehicle.
