Police Searching for Art Thief
Kittery, Maine, Police are investigating the theft of two paintings and want public's help.

Kittery, Maine, Police are searching for an art thief who stole three items from the Kittery Foreside Gallery valued at more than $1,000 earlier this month.
Accoridng to Seacoast Crime Stoppers, the theft occurred on March 20 and the items stolen include a small original painting, a panoramic photo of a ship on the Piscataqua River, and two handcrafted glass Lobster Claws that are red in color.
Police say a male subject was in an adjacent restaurant between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. and left the establishment without paying for drinks and a Crème Brulee dessert. Police described the male subject as a white male in his early 20s, with dark hair, 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a stocky build. Police say he may have left the area in a Subaru or similar car bearing New Hampshire plates.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to call the Kittery Police at 439-1638 and ask for Det Steve Hamel or Det. Ray Hazen.
