Police: Snakes Invade Portsmouth Home

Portsmouth Police supplied the following arrest information.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Sunday, May 12 through Monday, May 13.

Sunday:

  • At 9:42 a.m., police responded to a simple assault on Deer Street after Portsmouth firefighters found a victim who had suffered a broken nose from an altercation.
  • At 1:06 p.m., police reported fraud on Lafayette Road after the caller said her purse was stolen then recovered with nothing missing, but she later discovered some fraudulent charges on her credit card.
  • At 1:18 p.m., police reported an animal call on Wedgewood Road after the caller said two snakes that were brown with yellow stripes crawled into her home.
  • At 5:18 p.m., police arrested a 17-year-old juvenile for simple assault following an altercation with another juvenile on Middle Road.
  • At 5:28 p.m., police arrested a 15-year-old juvenile on Middle Road for disorderly conduct.
  • At 6:24 p.m., police reported air gun offenses on Weald Road after the caller said two juveniles were firing a BB gun at some birds.
  • At 9:22 p.m., police reported fraud at a Lafayette Road business after a store clerk said he received a $20 counterfeit bill.

  • At 10:42 a.m., police reported a dog bite on Woodbury Avenue that required medical treatment.
  • At 11:47 a.m., police took a report of a rape - forcible sexual assault at Beechstone Apartments that happened in May.
  • At 3:19 p.m., police reported a theft of an iPad valued at $700 on Woodbury Avenue.
  • At 4:29 p.m., police reported a theft on Edmond Avenue of all metal around the house and a grill.
