Police: Customer Dines, Dashes on $49 Tab Downtown
The following information was provided by the Portsmouth Police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Monday, Jan. 6.
Monday:
- At 9:03 a.m., police reported a suicide attempt on Springbrook Circle.
- At 1:38 p.m., police arrested a Tewksbury, Mass., man for drunken driving on Woodbury Avenue. Philip Paul Masotta, 46, of 23 Wayside Road, was charged with driving while intoxicated and transporting alcoholic beverages.
- At 2:01 p.m., police reported that a shoplifter was detained at a Lafayette Road business.
- At 2:08 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth woman who was wanted as a fugitive from justice on Parrott Avenue. Persephanie Lesperance, 24, of 229 Raleigh Way was wanted for criminal trespass and default or breach of bail conditions.
- At 2:32 p.m., police reported a hit and run motor vehicle accident on Islington and Summer streets.
- At 2:40 p.m., police reported the theft of two laptops valued at $300- to $400 apiece on Campus Drive.
- At 5:25 p.m., police reported a two-car accident on Lafayette Road without injury.
- At 8:47 p.m., police reported a theft on Congress Street after a restaurant patron walked out on a $49 tab.
