Port Officials Will Not Renew Scrap Pile Lease

The Pease Development Authority's board of directors will not renew the lease agreement for recycler Grimmel Industries LLC, according to reports by NHPR and American Metal Market. The lease expires in December.
The scrap metal pile off Market Street in Portsmouth has been controversial for years. Nearby abutters have complained about noise and pollution from the metal pile and facility.
The Division of Ports & Harbors falls within the Pease Development Authority.
