Portsmouth Area Residents Hit the Decks!

Blessed with beautiful sunshine, the Bow Street restaurant waterfront decks were booming with business at noontime.

When John Blalock, owner of Old Ferry Landing, opened up his waterfront deck for business on Friday morning ahead of Hit the Decks 2013 and saw the sunshine pouring in, he knew he would be very busy day.

At 12 noon, Old Ferry Landing, Poco's Bow Street Cantina, the River House and several other city restaurants that have outdoor decks were pretty full of happy patrons who could dine on their favorite fare and enjoy plenty of beer, wine and summer cocktails. The Greater Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce sponsored event couldn't have asked for better weather.

After seeing how busy his deck was at lunch time, Blalock said he expected to see even more business throughout the afternoon and evening. What follows is a video showing what Hit the Decks 2013 was like on Friday at noon.
