Bus Co. Steps Up for Marathon Victims

C&J Bus Lines to offer free transportation to victims, families and investigators who need to travel to Boston.

A Portsmouth area bus company will offer free transportation to Boston for any family members of the Boston Marathon victims as well as investigators and first responders who may need to go there.

According to C&J Bus Lines website, owner Jim Jalbert decided to do this as a way to help those who were directly affected by the bombings on Monday.

"Like most New Englanders, our family at C&J Bus Lines has been devastated by the heartbreaking incident at the Boston Marathon. We know many local and national organizations are doing their part to help out those affected by the bombings, and we hope we can offer transportation to anyone who needs it in the aftermath of the bombings," reads C&J Bus Lines' blog.

“It’s a small gesture, but it’s something tangible we can offer to those individuals and families whose lives have been forever changed by the senseless acts perpetrated against the people of Boston,” said C&J President Jim Jalbert. "It's something that could help."

The free transportation will be available for anyone who has a family member who may be receiving treatment in Boston hospitals. They can contact C&J Bus Lines at at 800-258-7111 or customercare@ridecj.com to make arrangements.

People who may need to go to Boston to assist emergency responders, investigators or race organizers can also take advantage of the free transportation, according to C&J Bus Lines' website.
