Portsmouth Police Log: Pharmacist Threatened Over Rx Refusal
Man was banned from two Portsmouth pharmacies after threatening pharmacist with a gun over prescription refusal: PD log Aug. 21 to Aug. 31.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — The following items were selected from the Portsmouth police log for the time period of Wednesday, Aug. 21 to Saturday, Aug. 31. Arrests do not indicate guilt. The names of any minors have been omitted.
Wednesday, Aug. 21
A person was injured in a two-vehicle accident on Lafayette Road, and a Subaru was towed. Someone requested extra patrols in the area of Fleet and Congress streets due to jaywalkers. And three construction signs were reportedly blocking traffic at Thaxter Road and Islington Street.
No arrests reported today.

Thursday, Aug. 22
Dean Wright, 41, of Portsmouth, was charged with conduct after an accident, disobeying an officer and two counts of driving after revocation or suspension, and was arrested on a warrant. Wright was arrested after not stopping the vehicle when police initially tried to pull him over on Lafayette Road around 6:27 p.m. The vehicle he was driving was towed after his arrest.
A man reportedly threatened a local pharmacist after bringing in a prescription "completely destroyed" and being refused his medication being filled around 8 p.m. He reportedly threatened to get his gun. Police issued him a no-trespass order at Rite Aid and CVS.

Friday, Aug. 23
Robert Saraiva, 58, of Malden, Massachusetts, turned himself in to police on a warrant for two theft by unauthorized taking charges. Pamela Troy, 65, of Portsmouth, was charged with willful concealment and theft from a Lafayette Road business. Jorge Antonio Marcelino, 62, of Wakefield, was charged with driving without a valid license. Susan Bernardo, 52, of Dover, was charged with driving after being certified as being a habitual offender.
A woman riding a moped possibly injured her leg in a collision involving a pickup truck at the intersection of Miller Avenue and Miller Street, around 11:37 a.m. Police closed off a portion of South Street due to the accident. Also, a man was taken to the emergency room after reportedly suffering an overdose near Bed Bath and Beyond. And on Bow Street, a person was reportedly punched twice in the eye by a family member.
Saturday, Aug. 24
Several fights were reported in downtown during the wee hours of the morning, but no arrests. Around 1 a.m., someone flagged down a police officer regarding a fight in the area of Fleet Street. Police also issued a verbal warning for disorderly conduct on Congress Street, after a fight was reported there shortly after 1 a.m. Another fight was reported at Legends, but those involved were gone by the time police arrived.
Sunday, Aug. 25
On Lafayette Road, a driver reportedly ran a stop sign, struck a bicyclist, asked if he was OK, then got back into the vehicle and left. The bicyclist was not injured but wanted to speak with police.
Police shut down Ladd and Market streets after a work bench was found on fire in a Ladd Street building. A police officer went to the emergency room to get checked, after suffering smoke inhalation.
No arrests reported today.
Monday, Aug. 26
Josiah Adair Mayo, 32, of Newmarket, was charged with breach of bail and two counts of domestic simple assault. Also, person reportedly had neck pain after a two-vehicle accident on Woodbury Avenue.
Tuesday, Aug. 27
Joshua W. Hartery, 41, of Portland, Maine, was charged with driving while intoxicated and drug possession. James N. Moffett Jr., 26, of Milton, was arrested on a warrant. Denny S. Rotinsulu, 48, of Dover, was charged with driving with suspended vehicle registration and driving after revocation or suspension.
Wednesday, Aug. 28
On Route 1 Bypass South, police found a reportedly missing person from Dayton after pulling a vehicle over at around 12:30 a.m. There were no concerns to his safety, just that he hadn't talked to his family in a couple of weeks. The man also received a warning for unsafe lane change. Later in the wee hours of the morning, noise complaints for loud music were reported on Deer Street and Spinnaker Way.
Reports for later incidents of the day were not immediately available.
Thursday, Aug. 29
Wendell G. Corey, 41, of Rochester, was arrested on a warrant on charges of theft and breach of bail. Tara Hosmer, 38, of Portsmouth, was arrested on a bench warrant. John Joseph Barry, 64, of Portsmouth, was charged with stalking and breach of bail.
Friday, Aug. 30
Luis Leon, 52, of Dover, was charged with driving after revocation or suspension. Curtis M. Smith, 31, of Portsmouth, was arrested on a warrant. Kayla Marie Mullikin-Goodwin, 30, of Greenland, was arrested on a bench warrant. Jeffrey Standley, 43, of Newmarket, was arrested on a warrant. Dominick Barbato, 23, of Islip Terrace, New York, received a summons. Kyle Sedler, 23, of Berwick, Maine, was charged with disorderly conduct and taken into protective custody.
An ambulance took a person to a hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Lafayette Road. Vehicle accidents also were reported at the Portsmouth traffic circle, and at the intersection of Lafayette and Elwyn roads. On Market Square, a man was summonsed for urinating in public.
Saturday, Aug. 31
In the area of State Street, Tonia C. Perrin, 55, of Portsmouth, was charged with theft from a building and criminal trespass. Also on State Street, John M. Brown, 44, of Milton, was charged with driving with suspended registration and the revocation or suspension of license; police tow the vehicle he was driving and give a courtesy ride to the occupants of the vehicle to a nearby hotel. On Peverly Hill Road, Jacob D. Penney, 24, of Hampton, was charged with driving while intoxicated.
An ex-employee of the Beach Plum drove into the light pole in the parking lot of the business after being told by his boss he may no longer work there. Police issued a no-trespass notice, Beach Plum did not wish to press charges.
Portsmouth police help Epping police with searching for a runaway minor, who was potentially in the Portsmouth area with an unknown male. They checked with Anchorage Inn and Howard Johnson hotel, and could not locate the couple nor their vehicle.
Someone was injured in a vehicle accident in the area of Lafayette Road and Greenleaf Woods Avenue. An accident involving a bicycle and a car was reported at the intersection of Summer and Middle streets, but no injuries. A noise complaint resulted from a charity fundraiser on Ocean Road shortly after 10 p.m., as the event was wrapping up.
