Portsmouth Police Log: May 29-June 4

Several car accidents and disorderly conduct were among incidents listed in the recent Portsmouth police log.

PORTSMOUTH, NH — The following items have been selected from the Portsmouth police log. Arrests do not indicate guilt. The names of any minors have been omitted.

Wednesday, May 29

7:38 a.m. — The Fire Department drives a man to the hospital after he reports feeling homicidal.
9:16 a.m. — A woman reports that a man has stolen her dog Snuggles from a motel the previous night. The man later returns with a dog; it was not check-out yet.
9:51 a.m. — A two-vehicle accident is reported at Austin and Middle streets. A vehicle is towed.
10:26 a.m. — Police try to check on a child who was not in school. No one answers at home.
11:25 a.m. — A dog belonging to an ER patient had been left in a car all night. The dog is taken to SPCA.
12:41 p.m. — Minor damage is caused after an oversized truck hits a parked vehicle on Raynes Avenue.
3:41 p.m. — An unwanted "squatter" is reported in a house on Union Street. A trespass notice is served.
4 p.m. — A two-vehicle accident with injury is reported on Ocean Road. Airbags deploy in one of the vehicles, one vehicle is towed.
4:21 p.m. — A lost rifle is discovered during an ATF audit.
4:42 p.m. — Harassment over the telephone is reported.
5:53 p.m. — A minor vehicle accident is reported after a Lexus backs into a truck near Daniel and Penhallow streets. Appears to be no damage.
7:09 p.m. — Lanna J. Spurlock, 34, of Wakefield, turns her self on a warrant for a possession of a controlled drug charge. She was released on bail.
9:10 p.m. — Screaming and slamming of doors is reported on Court Street.
9:41 p.m. — Three males are reportedly acting erratic on the Route 1 bypass north.

Thursday, May 30

12:01 p.m. — A man is making "snow angels" in the mulch. Police determine he is sober and is waiting for a friend to leave the store.

1:23 p.m. — Police respond to an unattended death of a 55-year-old man. The medical examiner is notified.

8:29 p.m. — Loud music and other noise is reported on Islington Street. The DJ is shutting down as police arrive.

Friday, May 31

12:38 a.m. — On Congress Street, an Uber driver leaves the area after some people reportedly try to fight his friend. Police find no one by that description at the location, determine it's an unfounded call.

12:45 a.m. — On Daniel Street, a caller says that a group of guys is trying to fight her and her boyfriend on Daniel Street. Police give the group a verbal warning.

1:02 a.m. — Gilman D. Blake IV, 46, of Gloucester, Massachusetts, is charged with driving while intoxicated.

9:37 a.m. — Staff at Operating Blessing find old ammo they would like to pass on to police.

11:19 a.m. — Two drivers are pretty shook up after a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Woodbury Avenue and Gosling Road. No injuries, both vehicles are towed.

11:47 a.m. — Vanessa M. Tarabocchia, 21, of Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, is charged with conduct after an accident.

6:04 p.m. — Surveillance footage is reviewed after a woman is suspected of stealing from a Congress Street store.

6:07 p.m. — Luis E. Gonzalez, 41, of Seabrook, is charged with driving after revocation or suspension.

6:24 p.m. — The Fire Department reports an accident outside the fire station with minor injury.

6:58 p.m. — A squirrel gets its head stuck in a dumpster behind a Lafayette Road business. The Fire Department helps officers cut the dumpster. The extrication is successful.

10:52 p.m. — Someone's car is keyed on Vaughan Street.

Saturday, June 1

12:29 a.m. — A man falls asleep with his TV on loud. He turns the volume down after police respond to a noise complaint.

12:57 a.m. — A driver reportedly goes straight through the Hanover Street garage gate without paying. Police cannot locate the vehicle.

10:20 a.m. — A vehicle accident is reported on Spaulding Turnpike south, near Pease Boulevard. No injuries.

11:14 a.m. — Police are on the lookout for a woman in a rental car who has reportedly threatened suicide. Police speak with the woman and she is OK and is not intoxicated.

4:38 p.m. — On Junkins Avenue, older kids are being aggressive to the younger kids, kicking them off the slide. The kids are gone when police arrive.

5:01 p.m. — A manager on Congress Street says a man stole three $30 rings. Police catch up with the man and he returns the rings. The business does not press charges but a trespass notice is served.

5:15 p.m. — A man is receiving repackages containing expensive computer parts that he did not order.

8:19 p.m. — Shane Vanlandingham, 31, of Newington, is charged with operating without a valid license and driving after revocation or suspension.

9:21 p.m. — Someone flags down an officer, saying there is a fight on Market Square. A person is brought to the hospital.

9:54 p.m. — Portsmouth police help Greenland police with a burglary in progress. Some juveniles are arrested.

Sunday, June 2

12:46 a.m. — On Fleet Street, a man is yelling at a group of girls. The parties have been moved along and warned for disorderly conduct.

4:12 a.m. — A vehicle accident involving a deer is reported at the intersection of Market Street and Portsmouth Boulevard. Fish and Game is called.

7:47 a.m. — Lorna Wise, 35, of Portsmouth, is charged with conduct after an accident.

12:57 p.m. — At Vaughan Mall, a man steals a pair of sunglasses. Staff chase him down and get the sunglasses back. The man returns to the store and threatens customers. Staff lock the doors until police arrive. The man is then seen on Congress Street with a red bike. Police issue him a barment letter.

2:49 p.m. — Loud music is reported on Hanover Street at Legends. Police determine it isn't too loud.

2:29 p.m. — A hit-and-run vehicle accident is reported on Woodbury Avenue.

6:30 p.m. — On Lafayette Road, a man steals Yu-Gi-Oh! cards and leaves the store. Another customer brings him back to the store, and the man returns all the stolen merchandise. Staff do not press charges.

8:19 p.m. — After a consent search, Charles J. Peachey, 19, of Concord, Massachusetts, is charged with possession of a controlled drug.

Monday, June 3

1:06 a.m. — Three people are reportedly looking inside the North Church windows with flashlights. Police determine they were taking pictures of each other.

11:28 a.m. — A male goes to the emergency room after being struck by a vehicle that was backing up in a Lafayette Road parking lot.

1:02 p.m. — A man reportedly punches a woman who is driving in an SUV on Daniel Street.

1:58 p.m. — Someone may have left a bag of cocaine on Daniel Street, a caller reports. Police bring it to the station.

2:25 p.m. — A vehicle side door is destroyed after a hit-and-run accident on Union Street.

3:05 p.m. — A two-vehicle accident is reported in a Junkins Avenue parking lot. No injuries.

3:10 p.m. — A three-vehicle accident with no injuries is reported near the Grafton Road and Route 33 intersection. A Nissan is towed.

4:07 p.m. — A three-vehicle accident with injury is reported on Lafayette Road. One person has a cut to her eye. A Mercedes is towed.

4:11 p.m. — Someone calls reporting a fight on Lafayette Road, but it's determined the fight was only verbal.

4:26 p.m. — A caller reports his 5-year-old son missing, but he later finds him sleeping behind the couch.

5:34 p.m. — A two-vehicle accident with injury is reported at Market Street and Michael Succi Drive. Both vehicle are towed.

10:43 p.m. — Dylan G. Webster, 24, of Amherst, is charged with operating with a suspended registration and driving after revocation or suspension.

Tuesday, June 4

2:20 a.m. — David B. Syphers, 43, of Greenland, is charged with two counts of domestic violence simple assault and one count of criminal threatening.

2:40 a.m. — Brian R. O'Neil, 31, of Manchester, is taken into protective custody.

11:36 a.m. — A car is reportedly passing a school bus illegally in the area of Gosling and Winsor roads.

4:51 p.m. — Portsmouth police assist police from Billerica, Massachusetts, to help locate a missing man who was "pinged" to the Portsmouth area near Arthur Brady Drive. Police could not locate him or the vehicle he drove.

11:07 p.m. — In the area of Congress and Church streets, a man knocks down a trash can and runs after police told him to wait. After a foot pursuit, Douglass Marshal Robertson, 30, of Portsmouth, is charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
