Portsmouth Police Logs, April 7
Traffic enforcements, reports of suspicious activity were reported in the Portsmouth police logs for April 7 overnight into April 8.
PORTSMOUTH, NH — The following incidents were reported in the Portsmouth police logs for Sunday, April 7, overnight into early hours of April 8. Those who were arrested are presumed innocent unless they are proven guilty in court. The names of any minors have been omitted.
7:15 a.m. — A two-vehicle accident is reported between D and E parking lots on Borthwick Avenue. No one is injured.
7:44 a.m. — A burglar alarm is accidentally set off on Lafayette Road.
9:07 a.m. — A minor two-vehicle accident is reported on Woodbury Avenue. No injuries.
9:18 a.m. — A woman reports finding a hypodermic needle on the ground while walking with her family on Maplewood Avenue. Police bring it into the station for destruction.
10:04 a.m. — Police issue a written warning for speeding on Greenland Road.
10:16 a.m. — Police issue a verbal warning for speeding on Kearsarge Way. On Brewery Lane, someone calls police out of concern for a dog locked in a car. Police clarify that with 55-degree temperatures and no signs of distress, no law has been broken.
10:30 a.m. — Police issue a verbal warning for speeding at the intersection of Market Street and Michael Succi Drive.
10:45 a.m. — Police issue a verbal warning regarding lane control at the intersection of Lafayette Road and Peverly Hill Road. Police issue another written warning during a vehicle stop at Market Street and Kearsarge Way.
10:53 a.m. — Portsmouth police assist State Police with a traffic stop.
1:01 p.m. — A female caller says she would like a man removed from her apartment on Middle Street. The call gets disconnected. Police remove the man from the apartment and serve him a trespass notice.
1:06 p.m. — Police issue a written warning during a traffic stop on Mirona Road.
1:07 p.m. — Someone reports that a landscaper is blowing leaves and trash onto the road, in the area of Middle and State streets. Police see some leaves, but no landscaper.
1:27 p.m. — A pedestrian walking on Islington Street is disturbed when a woman who is driving in a car starts yelling out the window.
2:05 p.m. — Someone reports a panting dog being left in a vehicle for 30 minutes on Woodbury Avenue amid 59-degree temperatures.
2:13 p.m. — Police take a report of theft on Lafayette Road.
3:22 p.m. — Police issue a written warning in the area of Maplewood Avenue and Vaughan Street.
3:48 p.m. — Police issue a verbal warning for failure to yield on Daniel Street.
3:55 p.m. — Police give a verbal warning regarding defective equipment during a traffic stop on Lafayette Road.
3:58 p.m. — Police issue a summons for blocking the sidewalk on Market Square.
4:02 p.m. — Police address a child custody issue in the area of Freedom Circle.
4:03 p.m. — A caller is concerned about a dog that is panting in the back seat of a parked car on Woodbury Avenue. Police determine it is cool in the car and the dog is not in distress.
4:27 p.m. to 7:24 p.m. — Police conduct traffic enforcements and issue two summons, six written warnings and 14 verbal warnings during vehicle stops.
7:38 p.m. — Police check on three suspicious vehicles running near the water on Marcy Street.
7:42 p.m. — Michael Larochelle, 45, of Lawrence, Massachusetts, is charged with driving after revocation or suspension on Market Street.
8:27 p.m. — Police give a verbal warning for speeding on Peverly Hill Road.
8:30 p.m. — A person reports potential cell phone theft at a Lafayette Road business.
9:38 p.m. to 10:33 p.m. — Police conduct traffic enforcement and issue four written warnings and nine verbal warnings during vehicle stops.
10:36 p.m. — Police check on a suspicious vehicle on Route 1 Bypass southbound. The vehicle and its occupants have been moved along.
10:48 p.m. to 11:01 p.m. — Police issue one written and two verbal warnings during vehicle stops.
11:09 p.m. — Police talk to a woman in a vehicle parked behind a building on Middle Street, a couple of people are next to the vehicle, but nothing nefarious is noted.
11:15 p.m. — Police issue three written warnings during a vehicle stop on Lafayette Road.
11:26 p.m. — Police look for suspicious activity near Islington and Brewster streets. A man wearing a hoodie and a backpack is seen walking.
12:29 a.m. — On Echo Avenue, a barn door that was previously open is now closed. It was the homeowner's relative in the barn, the incident is no longer suspicious.
12:55 a.m. — Two exterior doors are found open at an Islington Street business. Police secure the doors.
1:08 a.m. — Police check on an occupied vehicle parked in a Lafayette Road parking lot. The man in the vehicle had just got done eating Taco Bell food, he is moved along.
1:27 a.m. — On Brewery Lane police check on a man who was walking in the area playing Pokemon Go.
1:37 a.m. — Police issue a verbal warning regarding lane control at Ocean Road and Buckminster Way.
1:47 a.m. — Police issue a verbal warning regarding defective vehicle equipment on Lafayette Road.
1:56 a.m. — On Lafayette Road police check out a truck and trailer parked by a construction area. They speak to a man who is part of the landscaping crew, he's all set.
4:25 a.m. — A mattress in the road is reported at the intersection of Market and Hanover streets. Police notify public works and the mattress is removed.
