Portsmouth Police Nab Maine Robber

Portsmouth Police supplied the following arrest information.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Tuesday, April 23 to Wednesday, April 24.

Tuesday:

  • At 10:12 a.m., police reported a theft on Borthwick Avenue after a contractor had some copper cable valued at $1,500 stolen from a building.
  • At 1:21 p.m., police reported a theft on Woodbury Avenue after the caller said someone stole a customer's purse in K-Mart and fled in a car driven by another person.
  • At 5:21 p.m., police reported a theft on Daniel Street after the caller said she left her purse in a vehicle and the wallet was stolen.
  • At 5:50 p.m., police reported a theft at a Lafayette Road business after the caller said a woman went into the bathroom and then left the store with some stolen merchandise before driving away in a car on Lafayette Road.
  • At 6:24 p.m., police arrested a Berwick, Maine woman who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after she was detained by Rochester Police. Diana R. Foley, 26, of 344 Pine Hill Road was wanted for unarmed robbery, wilful concealment and driving after revocation or suspension.
  • At 8:57 p.m., police reported a theft on Lafayette Road after the passenger window was smashed in a vehicle and a wallet was stolen.
  • At 9:08 p.m, police arrested a Portsmouth man following a domestic incident on Holiday Drive. Pappilion Maimo, 26, of 31 Holiday Drive, Apt. C., was charged with criminal mischief (vandalism).

  • At 10:29 a.m., police arrested a Newington woman for motor vehicle offenses on Lang Road and Eastwood Drive. Amanda Rana McNabb, 25, of 34 Beane Lane was charged with reckless operation and speed.
  • At 7:11 p.m., police reported a theft at Beechstone Apartments after a GPS and a iPod were stolen from a vehicle.
  • At 7:50 p.m., police arrested a Farmington man for motor vehicle offenses on Lafayette Road and McKinley Road. Stephen A. Elliott, 40, of 39 Peaceful Pine Circle was charged with being deemed a habitual offender, disobeying a police officer, transporting alcoholic beverages and operating with a valid license.
  • At 7:52 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man on Lafayette Road who was wanted as a fugitive from justice. Mesfen A. Rowell, 24, of 600 Lafayette Road was charged with simple assault.
  • At 8:12 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man on Lafayette Road. Michael E. Newman, 53, of 600 Lafayette Road was charged with criminal trespass and taken into protective custody for alcoholism.
