Portsmouth Police Probe Burglaries
Portsmouth Police provided the following information.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Wednesday, May 1.
Wednesday:
- At 11:10 a.m., police reported harassment on Islington Street after the caller said a male vagrant harassed customers by making crude comments to them outside of the establishment. He was described as a white male with long gray hair who was wearing shorts and riding a mountain bike.
- At 12:22 p.m., police reported an animal call on Maplewood Avenue and Woodbury Avenue after the caller reported a dead possum. The animal was dropped off at the city Public Works Department on Peverly Hill Road.
- At 3:35 p.m., police arrested a juvenile who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after the juvenile turned themselves in at the police station. Police did not provide any details about the offense involved.
- At 4:05 p.m., police reported a burglary on Denise Street after the caller arrived home and found his front door, the closets and dresser draws open.
- At 4:39 p.m., police reported another burglary on Willard Avenue after the caller said the front door of their residence had been kicked in.
- At 6:34 p.m., police reported a skateboarder complaint on Weald Road after the caller said three skateboarders were in the road and after she asked them to stop, they called her names and threatened to beat up her son.
- At 7:28 p.m., police reported criminal threatening on Islington Street after the caller said someone entered an establishment and told the bartender they were going to kill them all. A bag was left out in front of the establishment and the threat was made by two homeless people.
- At 11:25 p.m., police reported an animal call when the caller said she found a dead dog wrapped in a blanket outside of her Lafayette Road home. The dog had tags and was a pitbull mix. The animal was removed by police and transferred to the police animal control officer.
