Police Called for Teens Drinking Downtown
The following information was provided by the Portsmouth Police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Friday, Oct. 25 to Saturday, Oct. 26.
Friday:
- At 8:43 a.m., police reported theft on Durgin Lane after the caller said said several items, including a tablet, were stolen from his truck.
- At 10:32 a.m., police reported theft on Lafayette Road after the caller said a store employee stole some cash and fled.
- At 1:40 p.m., police reported a simple assault on Weald Road.
- At 4:55 p.m., police reported a theft from a vehicle on Ledgewood Drive where a Garmin GPS was taken along with some change.
- At 7:04 a.m., police reported a theft on Dennett Street after the caller said some plants were taken.
- At 7:14 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Marcy Street after someone threw a rock through a window and caused about $70 of damage.
- At 10:29 a.m., police arrested a Portsmouth woman who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after she turned herself in at the police station. Jane E. Caffrey, 37, of 27 Fields Road, Apt. 3, was wanted for obtaining non-CD drugs by fraud or deceit.
- At 12:37 p.m., police reported a two-car accident on Woodbury Avenue.
- At 7:54 p.m., police arrested a Hampton man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he turned himself in at the police station. Carl Hendrickson, 48, of 3 Presidential Drive, Apt. 205, was arrested on a warrant.
- At 9:18 p.m., police reported liquor offenses on Marcy Street after a group of teens were observed drinking alcohol in public. Police later turned the teens over to their parents.
- At 11:35 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man on Greenleaf Avenue following a domestic incident. Frederick J. Henschel Jr., 37, of 175 Greenleaf Ave., Apt. B, was charged with criminal mischief (vandalism).
