Prescott Park Arts Festival is Calling All Dogs

Parrott Avenue parking lot to be closed on Wednesday and Thursday; Hit the Decks 2013 happening on Thursday; some rain in the forecast.

1. Today's weather: Today will be cloudy with a chance of showers after 11 a.m. and a high temperature of 66 degrees. On Wednesday night, there will more showers and a low temperature of 54 degrees.

2. Sandy the Dog auditions Saturday: The Prescott Park Arts Festival will hold auditions for all Portsmouth area dogs who want to play the part of Sandy in this summer's community theatre production of "Annie." The auditions will be held on Saturday morning.

3. Parrott Avenue lot to be closed: Half of the Parrott Avenue parking lot will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday from 4 a.m. to 12 noon because the city Public Works Department needs to do some maintenance work.

4. Bridge lighting panel to meet: The Memorial Bridge Illumination Subcommittee will meet on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Kittery Community Center at Frisbee Commons in Kittery, Maine to make a presentation on their capital campaign to raise $200,000 to light up the new span.

5. Hit the Decks Thursday: The Greater Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Hit the Decks 2013 event in conjunction with several Portsmouth restaurants Thursday all day long, rain or shine.
