Red Sox 2013 World Series Trophy Coming to Portsmouth

The March 25 event is free and open to the public.

Submitted by the Portsmouth Public Library:

Gather up your family and friends and plan to meet at the Portsmouth Public Library on Tuesday, March 25between 3 and 4:30 for a once-in-a-lifetime viewing of the Red Sox 2013 World Series Trophy. The trophy will be on display in the Library Lobby.  This is a terrific opportunity to see a slice of sports history. Don your baseball gear, think spring and bring your camera!

The Red Sox World Series trophies – 2004, 2007 and 2013 – routinely tour New England in the off season. Thanks to the foresight of Assistant Director, Steve Butzel, a stop at the library has been added to the itinerary.

“I grew up in Newton, MA and have been a Red Sox fan all my life, said Butzel, so I jumped at the chance to bring the trophy to all Red Sox fans in Portsmouth.”

The event is free and open to the public. Family members of all ages are welcome. The library is located at 175 Parrott Avenue, next to the Portsmouth Middle School.  The library may be reached at 603-427-1540 or visit our web site at www.cityofportsmouth.com/library.
