Rochester Woman Convicted Assaulting City Police Officer

Donna Hanley was found guilty of criminal threatening, attempted simple assault and resisting arrest in Rockingham County Superior Court.

A Rochester woman who assaulted a Portsmouth Police officer after she beat an elderly couple for euthanizing her cat in September 2011 was convicted of several charges Wednesday in Rockingham County Superior Court.

According to the Union Leader, Donna Hanley, 49, of 4 Brouchu Court, Rochester, was convicted of criminal threatening, attempted simple assault and resisting arrest. The incident involved Portsmouth Police Officer Andre Wassouf on Sept. 7, 2011 on Cass Street. The Union Leader reported that Judge N. William Delker decided to wait on sentencing Hanley until her two other trials related to the case end. The Manchester newspaper also reported that Hanley was found not guilty of three other charges that she allegedly assaulted a second Portsmouth Police officer.
