Ruth Griffin Endorses Nazzaro for Senate

Phil Nazzaro is running for the state Senate District 21.

Former Executive Councilor Ruth Griffin of Portsmouth has endorsed Phil Nazzaro for state Senate, a seat she once held.

"Phil Nazzaro is a leader who puts people above party and brings people together," Griffin said in the announcement May 8. "As a Newmarket Town Councilor, he helped lower the town tax rate by finding efficiencies while maintaining the services his constituents expected. As a West Point graduate and military veteran, he served our country admirably in times of war and defended our freedoms that we hold dear. We need Phil's leadership in Concord, and I wholeheartedly endorse him to represent our district in the state senate."

Nazzaro, who is running for the Republican nomination, said he was "humbled" by Griffin's support.

"Through her storied career as a public servant, she continuously fought for personal freedom, limited government, and low taxes for all of New Hampshire’s residents," Nazzaro said in a statement.

Nazzaro is running in District 21, which covers Portsmouth, Durham, Lee, Madbury, Newfields, Newington and Newmarket. Sen. Martha Fuller Clark, D-Portsmouth, is the incumbent.
