'She's A Hard Worker': Portsmouth NH Local Hero

PORTSMOUTH, NH — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Tristan Waterhouse who nominated Makayliah Waterhouse of Portsmouth. Makayliah works as a grocery store clerk at Market Basket in Lee.

"This is her first job," Tristan, who is Makayliah's mom, said. "She's a hard worker."

Grocery employees in New Hampshire have provided a great service to us all during the pandemic. Thank you for all you do, Makayliah!
