Snow Causing Crashes in Portsmouth Area

The roads are getting slick and causing some rollovers and spinouts.

Police are responding to numerous crashes across the state and in the Portsmouth area on Sunday as the snow continues to accumulate.

Accidents have been reported in Londonderry, Manchester, Nashua, Hampton Falls and Bow, including several crashes on Interstate 93. In Londonderry, police responded to a report of an overturned vehicle on Mammoth Road at Old Coach Road.

Here in the Portsmouth area, police and firefighters reponded to single motor vehicle accidents on on the Spaulding Turnpike near the split with I-95 southbound that caused some delays. Portsmouth firefighters also responded to a single car crash on Lafayette Road that resulted in some delays.

No serious injuries have been reported at this hour, but police are urging motorists to be cautious on the slick, icy roads.

Only a small amount of snow is expected to fall today, but more could be on its way on Monday and Tuesday.
