State Police Investigating Fatal 3-Vehicle Crash On Interstate 95 In Portsmouth
The area around Mile Marker 13 was closed Monday night after troopers received reports of a burning vehicle in the southbound lane.
PORTSMOUTH, NH — New Hampshire State Police are investigating a crash on Interstate 95 that killed one man and injured two women on Monday night.
Around 6:45 p.m., troopers were sent to the area of Mile Marker 13 to investigate a report of a burning vehicle on the southbound side of the highway in the middle lane. When they arrived, they found three vehicles had crashed, according to Tyler Dumont, the state police public information officer.
“Emergency medical services arrived and transported three people to an area hospital,” he said. “Despite lifesaving efforts, an adult male was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Two adult females were treated for injuries believed to be minor.”

The state police collision analysis and reconstruction unit was requested to investigate. During the cleanup and investigation, the highway was closed for about four hours, with traffic rerouted at Exit 3B.
