Tanker Owners Move to Dismiss Lawsuit
Owners of M/V Harbour Feature challenge claims made by the New Hampshire and Maine departments of transportation that ship damaged the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge.

The owners of the M/V Harbour Feature tanker that slammed into the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge in April have moved to dismiss the lawsuit brought by the New Hampshire and Maine departments of transportation, according to Boston.com.
Boston.com reported Wednesday morning that the tanker's owner, Sexhste Nordtank-Hamburg, which is operated by TB Marine Shipmanagement, is claiming the Sarah Long bridge was already in such a state of disrepair, the $2.4 million in work that was done by the two states to repair it was not related to the collision that occurred on April 1. The tanker's owner also claims the two states are guilty of negligence and should not be allowed to collect any damages.
The two state agencies filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Concord in April seeking $2.4 million in damages and argued that the M/V Harbour Feature's crew failed to properly secure the tanker to the New Hampshire State Pier.
