TedXPiscataquaRiver Conference this Friday

CDBG public hearing this evening at City Hall; Library's sustainable art exhibit now open; another pleasant sunny day in the forecast.

1. Today's weather: Today will be mostly sunny with a high temperature near 64 degrees. On Thursday night, it will be partly cloudy with a low temperature around 42 degrees.

2. TedXPiscataquaRiver this Friday: The Portsmouth area's first ever "TedXPiscataquaRiver" conference will be held this Friday where a panel of several Seacoast area speakers will address issues that are most important to the region.

3. CDBG public hearing: The Citizens Advisory Committee Public Hearing on Annual Action Plan and Budget to HUD will be held at City Hall on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

4. Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day: The city will hold its bi-annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday, May 4 for the residents of Portsmouth, Greenland and Newington. People can bring their household chemicals to the Public Works Department facility on Peverly Hill Road between 8 a.m. and noon and proof of residency is required.

5. Sarah Long Bridge closed: According to New Hampshire Department of Transportation officials, the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge will be closed to motor vehicle traffic until May 25 because of the extensive repairs that need to be done.
