"The Kill Team," a film that deals with the War in Afghanistan from the U.S. Soldiers point of view during a military court martial, was a riveting experience.
Dan Krauss' film examines the true story of a platoon of soldiers who were charged with killing Afghan soldiers for sport in 2010. Four of them were implicated, but as the film progresses, it is hard to find complete fault with the soldiers' actions as they share their personal accounts of the danger and uncertainty they faced on the ground.
The movie takes an even darker turn when whistleblower PFC Adam Winfield, who brought the killings to light, is prosecuted and forced to bear the brunt of the blame as he grapples with his own role in the killings.
Overall, "The Kill Team" was pretty powerful and an important film as the U.S. continues to withdraw forces from Afghanistan and measures what was gained and lost during the war.
