Todd Germain Is Portsmouth's New Fire Chief
Todd Germain has been appointed as Portsmouth's new fire chief after Chief Steve Achilles retired.
PORTSMOUTH, NH — Todd Germain has been appointed as Portsmouth's new fire chief. Germain has been serving as interim chief after the retirement of Chief Steve Achilles in April. On Wednesday, city officials stated he has been appointed to the position full-time.
Germain began his career in Portsmouth as a firefighter/EMT in 1994. He became lieutenant in 2006, also serving as a paramedic. In 2011, Germain became a shift commander after being promoted to captain. He was then senior captain as of 2017. Before recently being appointed to the chief's position, he was interim chief since the end of April.
