USS Thresher Victims to be Remembered

City Council to hold public hearing on proposed budget; Sarah Mildred Long Bridge remains closed; rain in the forecast.

2. Shipyard to remember USS Thresher: The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard will hold a ceremony at 9:17 a.m. on Wednesday to remember the 129 sailors and civilians who perished on the USS Thresher (SSN 593) submarine disaster that happened on April 10, 1963.

3. City first budget public hearing: The City Council will hold the first public hearing on the proposed fiscal year 2014 budget of more than $93.2 million on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
