What's Closed in Portsmouth on Christmas?
All city offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, Christmas Eve., and Tuesday, Christmas Day.

With Christmas just five days away, some Portsmouth area residents may be wondering what will be open and closed when the holiday week begins.
Well, here's the scoop. On Monday, Christmas Eve, and Tuesday, Christmas Day, City Hall, all city offices, the Portsmouth Public Library, the Connie Bean Recreation Center will be closed. City Hall closes at 1 p.m. on Friday so if you have any important city business to transact, it may be prudent to get it done before then.
According to city officials, the Portsmouth Indoor Pool will close at 12 noon on Monday, Christmas Eve., and at 4 p.m. on Monday, New Year's Eve. The Spinnaker Point Recreation Center will close at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve and Dec., 31, New Year's Eve, according to city officials. Spinnaker Point will be open on Tuesday, Jan. 1, New Year's Day.

The new Connie Bean Recreation Center will reopen on Wednesday, Dec. 26 at 10 a.m., according to city officials. But it will be closed on New Year's Day.
Portsmouth schools will be closed the entire holiday week from Monday, Dec. 24, Christmas Eve through Wednesday, Jan. 2.
