PORTSMOUTH, NH — A Hampton man was arrested Friday morning after driving the wrong way on Interstate 95 in Portsmouth and causing a head-on vehicle accident, according to the State Police. Two people were injured in the crash. Christopher Rockwell, 35, of Hampton, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and reckless conduct.

According to police, the accident occurred around 3:10 a.m. near Exit 3. Rockwell was driving a Jeep Compass south on I-95 North when the vehicle collided with a Jeep Patriot driven by a 29-year-old from Kennebunkport, Maine. Both drivers were injured and went to the hospital as a result of the accident.
