You Ask... Portsmouth Patch Answers

Portsmouth area resident wants to know where he can get a blue ribbon to remember Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney.

One week from today the Portsmouth area will be marking a very important and tragic anniversary on April 12, the day that Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney was killed and four police officers were wounded during a drug raid in that community.

As the anniversary nears, many Portsmouth area residents are starting to wonder how they can mark the anniversary. Just recently, Greenland town officials announced they would make special Thin Blue Line ribbons to honor Maloney and ask people to wear them on April 12 during a moment of silence to be held outside of the Greenland Police Station at 5 p.m.

This week, James Wilbur of North Hampton asked where he could get one of these ribbons so he can wear it on April 12. Here is James' question:

Where can I get the ribbons? Mike was a good family friend and lived in my neighborhood. Thanks.

The answer is at the Greenland Town Hall during regular business hours, Monday through Friday. They can also be obtained at the Greenland transfer station on Saturday and they are available for free for Greenland residents and Portsmouth area residents who want to honor Chief Maloney.
