110-Seat Restaurant Plan Before Board

1) The Salem Planning Board meets Aug. 13, and its agenda includes a public hearing for a Balducci's site plan – a 110-seat restaurant at 419 South Broadway. Here is the board's agenda.
2) Salem weather: showers and a thunderstorm possible early in the day Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
3) New sample results today: The state Department of Environmental Services issued a fecal bacteria advisory for Arlington Pond Home Improvement Beach. The DES team tested the water again Thursday, and results should be available Friday.
4) In case you missed it: Salem joined other towns in a lawsuit against the NH Local Government Center. Chuck Douglas, an attorney for the towns, said of the suit filed in Strafford County Superior Court, "We are only looking for a fair and rational distribution of the excess funds back to the towns that paid them."
