3 Teens Injured During Pond Street Crash In Salem
The teens were injured after a Ford Mustang crashed into trees on Pond Street on Wednesday; Chief Dolan says speed appears to be a factor.
SALEM, NH — Salem police are investigating a crash that sent three teenagers to hospitals in Massachusetts with serious injuries on Wednesday.
Just before 8:30 p.m., police and fire and rescue teams were sent to Pond Street for a single-vehicle crash. When they arrived, they found a 2004 Ford Mustang crashed into trees with three people trapped inside, according to Chief Joel Dolan of the Salem Police Department.
“The Salem Fire Department responded and extricated all three and two were subsequently transported via medical helicopter to Boston area hospitals with life-threatening injuries,” he said. “The third was transported via ambulance to a Boston hospital with serious injuries.”

The three people in the vehicle were between 17- and 19-years-old, he said.
Dolan said the department’s Analysis and Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash. The initial investigation indicates speed appeared to be a factor, he added.
